TRIBAL ART LONDON

TAL was formally known as Tribal Perspectives and launched in 2007.

It began in a single gallery space off Portobello Road, Notting Hill, West London as a group show for a handful of UK dealers in authentic tribal art. It soon had to expand and moved in 2009 to Cork Street, the centre of the historic fine art gallery district of Mayfair.

The initial success of the group show led to its steady expansion. Increasing numbers of prominent tribal art dealers applied to take part, a number from overseas, resulting in a significant increase in attendance and recognition of the fair at an international level.

By 2014 the event had outgrown its home once again. This resulted in a move to the spacious modern setting of the Mall Galleries, located next to the ICA and in the prestigious art heartland of St James’s.

To coincide with this move, the event was rebranded as Tribal Art London to reflect its new status as a leading, internationally-recognised fair showcasing more than 20 exhibitors and its importance to the UK community of specialist tribal art dealers, connoisseurs and collectors.

In 2017 Tribal Art London (TAL) will be celebrating 10 years in the making.
